Linebacker Desmond Bishop only played in four games this season for the Vikings. In his opinion, that was enough for the team to want to bring him back in 2014.

The Vikings signed Bishop to a one-year contract last summer. In his first Minnesota start, Oct. 13 against Carolina, the seven-year veteran suffered a season-ending knee injury.

“I’m pretty confident in my abilities. I always have been,” Bishop said Friday. “I think whether or not I have the hype or what not, I think the film doesn’t lie and you can turn it on and watch, and I think it speaks for itself (that Bishop did enough to be re-signed).”

Bishop, 29, suffered a torn right ACL and had surgery. After the season finale Sunday against Detroit, he plans to remain in Minnesota. His plans: “Just tons of rehab,” he said.
